What is Cronos?
CRO is the native token of the Crypto.com (Crypto.org) chain, a public, open-source and permissionless proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain network. Users can buy and sell cryptocurrency on the Crypto.com exchange, earn cash back rewards on purchases and discounts using the Crypto.com Visa debit card, and accept crypto as a form of payment using Crypto.com Pay. Crypto.com Defi Wallet allows users to send and receive digital assets and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), delegate staking using DeFi Earn, and trade between tokens using DeFi Swap within the Crypto.com Defi Wallet. Cronos is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible chain running in parallel to the Crypto.org chain, powered by Ethermint to allow for the development of decentralized applications and smart contracts. Users can bridge native CRO to Cronos-wrapped WCRO using the Cronos Bridge in the Crypto.com Defi Wallet app, or bridge other Crypto.com native tokens to Cronos chain, with future support for Ethereum to Cronos bridge.
