What is Lisk?
Lisk is a public blockchain platform that enables JavaScript developers to deploy their own sidechains and decentralized blockchain applications. It was forked from the Crypti platform by Max Kordek and Oliver Beddows in 2016. Released in 2019, the open source Lisk SDK enables developers to build application-specific blockchains and publish JavaScript apps natively on their own blockchain as an alternative to smart contract based applications. Lisk is secured by an environmentally friendly Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus algorithm and finality guaranteeing Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT). The Lisk platform utilizes sidechain architecture, an energy-efficient consensus mechanism and a modular SDK to ensure high scalability, decentralization, security, composability, and interoperability.
