What is Tezos?
Tezos is a DAPP Platform that supports both DAPPS and Smart Contracts. The platform aims to achieve a self-protecting and an on-chain governance protocol to manage any edits to the network. Tezos is run by XTZ, which is created through a process called baking. Bakers are required to create deposits and are given an a reward for signing and publishing blocks. After the blocks get signed and published witnesses then validate the blocks. Bakers that are dishonest lose their deposits. Tezos uses the DPoS protocol (delegated proof-of-stake) and has support for Turing complete smart contracts. Tezos is built on top of the OCaml programming language, which claims to offer 'functional, imperative, and object-oriented styles'.
